The following interview includes language that may be found offensive.

Name: Edward "njweedman.com" Forchion

Office: Candidate for US Congress (District 3)
Party: NJ Marijuana Party
Opponents: Saxton, Conaway, Orland
Website: http://www.njweedman.com

VG: First of all, Ed, thank you for joining JerseyPolitics.com today! Can you tell me a little bit about the US Marijuana Party and the NJ Marijuana Party? How big is the national party and how big is the state party? How many members do you have and how many candidates do have in office....It seems as if you are the only candidate from your party running for office in NJ? Is this a real party?

EF: Most questions about the National U.S. Marijuana Party can be found at: http://www.usmjparty.com. The difference between the U.S. Marijuana Party and the (NJ) Legalize Marijuana Party: www.tlmp.org. The (NJ) Legalize Marijuana Party (TLMP) is a one-man, privately funded by myself and a few odd sales. For some reason, I've not been able to receive formal funding from the larger organized reform movement. "Imagine with my "thc" enhanced energy, how far I could go." - I'm motivated by the persecution I've suffered at the hands of the government simply for saying LEGALIZE:

VG: You have a monthly demonstration by the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia...Do you actually smoke marijuana at these demonstrations
and if you do....how have the police not arrested the demonstrators?
How many people usually attend these events?

EF: I encourage you to view the video of these demonstrations at http://www.njweedman.com/smokeout. The purpose of this demonstration is to demonstrate the legality of using marijuana during a religious ceremony on federal property under the authority of the 1993 Freedom of Religion and Restoration Act. On the average, between 5 - 50 people have attended the monthly event. On three occasions, Mr. Pat Duff and myself were arrested and received our Federal Court Case - our goal. On November 16, 1993, Mr. Bill Clinton signed into law the Freedom of Religion and Restoration Act which in theory legalized marijuana in America which is why I voted for him in 1992. On Nov. 10th, 2004 Federal Judge Rapoport will decide if my actions are legal of jailable!

VG: What is the progress in your lawsuit against your former
Hackensack employer?

EF: I am still awaiting a legal response to my federal complaint. I’ve posted my compliant on this page on my site: http://www.njweedman.com/fired

VG: You have some issues with US Attorney Chris Christie....

EF: Yes, Mr. Christie is a “HUGE HYPOCRITE” and I’ve devoted a webpage: http://www.njweedman.com/hypocrite.html describing my treatment at his hands. He publicly touts himself as a champion of law and is in fact the highest federal law official in the State of New Jersey but ignores the fact that I’ve been repeatedly persecuted and have had my federal constitutional rights violated by State Officials simply because I question the Constitutionality of our nations drug laws.

While it is clear to some people like myself that the “War on Drugs” violates Constitutional and human rights, the view of those who are vested in law enforcement (or with the power to make laws and interpret rights) consider it a foregone conclusion that the drug laws are constitutional. To even bring up the topic of rights may harden the resolve of lawmakers, law enforcers and judges because it implies that they have failed to understand the true meaning of the Constitution and retaliate against individuals like me for expressing my views. U.S. Attorney Christie has allowed me to be persecuted because he aggress with the government “drug” policy and not my Right to express my dis-pleasure with it.

VG: What are your thoughts on your opponents, Jim Saxton, Herb
Conaway, and Frank Orland? Have u met any of them?

EF: I haven’t met any of them. As far as I’m concerned the two Demo-publicans have nothing new I need to comment on. The Republican and Democratic parties have turned America into a nation to be feared, and made America the imprisonment capital of the world using a RACIST policy called “WAR ON DRUGS” – http://www.njweedman.com/AMERIKKKA- I’m sure me and Mr. Orland probably have much more in common than the two current members of our tyrannical government.

VG: US Congressman Dennis Kucinich was the only one of the nine Democratic Candidates for President that supports the legalization of marijuana...did you support him? What are your thoughts on him?

EF: No, I didn’t support him I thought his embracing the “legalization issue” wasn’t genuine and simply a slogan/campaign gimmick.

VG: I see...You sued Comcast....For how much and why? What is the
status of that case?

EF: I actually filed two lawsuits against Comcast. The first was dismissed this one is pending. Comcast has refused to air my POLITICAL ADS. I sued for $420,000. In stoner lingo “420” has many meanings. I asked for 420 as a Gimmick for my valid claim. The progress of this suit can be viewed here: http://www.njweedman.com/comcastfederalcomplaint.htm

VG: You announced you will be running for Governor in 2005? For any office you are running, don't you think it would be easier to run as a Democrat or a Republican or a Green or a libertarian or something....and incorporate marijuana legalization in your platform?

EF: I did announce I was gonna run for office and I was fired form my job for it. http://www.njweedman.com/fired - . No first I doubt any of those parties would endorse having a “convicted felon” representing them in any election. Second, I don’t think any of those parties would put “Ending the Drug War” on the front burner like I do. I really feel with 800,000 Americans arrested for marijuana each year for marijuana and over 1 million citizens in prison for Drug offenses that there is a more important issue.

VG: Interesting, well Ed, I personally oppose the legalization of marijuana except for medical purposes...for the reason I have friends from high school and college to today, who smoked and couldn't stop smoking, had to drop out of school...they need to smoke 4 or 5 times a day...I think that is a dangerous addiction...granted there are many people who can smoke and aren't addicted, but there are some....and what about those who deal marijuana to children in Newark and Rahway? Do you support that action or if marijuana is legalized...should there be restrictions such as you can't deal to a minor etc...or any restrictions?

EF: Marijuana is not addictive, that claim was a successful government propaganda campaign that still has people such as yourself believing in it. Maybe your friends were gonna be high school dropouts anyway and just happen to smoke marijuana, as well as drink beer and have anal gas or some other irrelevant factor in their lives. Marijuana is not the root of all evil, wake-up marijuana is good not bad. The “VAST” majority of “potheads” function everyday with no “a-motivational syndrome”. If you don’t want to smoke don’t. Just don’t support laws that put me in a cage because I choose to. How in the world can any America claim we are a free nation when the government dictates to use what we can or can-not ingest into our own bodies. With that false authority the government has thus decided what we can choose to use for our “medicine” or what “sacrament” . In effect choosing our Religions!!!!!

VG: mmm, who are you supporting in this upcoming presidential
race?

EF: I’m voting for NADER, the other two are one and the same. Kerry doesn’t fool me. The only thing he could say to change my mind would be if he said he’d remove the TROOPS in Iraq immediately. He hasn’t said that.

VG: Okay...let's play a little name game....I will say a few names
and you tell me the first few words that pop into your head please...

VG: James E. McGreevey
EF: If he can smoke a cock, why can I smoke pot!!

VG: Ronald Regan
EF: One day I’m gonna take a THC positive on his grave

VG: Bill Clinton
EF: Did legalize marijuana

VG: Rob Andrews
EF: Jim McGreevey

VG: Ralph Nader
EF: The man who should be President

VG: Thanks for your time and best of luck with the rest of your campaign.
